Brown Polka dot "Lelle" Leggings

from Ottobre 6/2008 ( or is it 6/2009?), pattern #2.
Size 80, no seam allowances added. Ribbing added to match his brown polka dot raglan sleeve tee. Completed last night and worn today because the whole outfit together is just so darn cute.  Yes, it looks like a set of long johns but we are having a day at home today so they are nice and comfy ( and snuggly) for him to lounge around in.


I know they are not very good photo's today but I had to be quick to get a few whilst the sun was shining and he was happy before nap time.

I was not going to make his brown polka dot tee a pyjama top, but combined with the leggings, it's just too cute to boot!
Now to finish his actual pyjama pants to match the plain green with yellow ribbing top I made on Sunday.  ( isn't it funny how you can start one project and end up totally sidetracked by something else and finish that instead of what you started with!)

At last something to blog~ Otherwise known as " I've found some motivation"

Not a lot of motivation mind you. But at 37+ weeks pregnant with my fifth baby, I think I can be excused. Even when I do have a mountain of things to finish before heffalump arrives :)

I don't think all the doubles tennis I am playing is helping my motivation any either, more like helping my exhaustion! Can you believe DH and I played 14 games with his parents the day before last. No wonder I am so freaking sore LOL

Ok on to some piccies

I edged some Muslin ( about 100cmx 140cm) using a rolled hem to make a couple of wraps for swaddling bub.

I also edged a couple of pieces 50cm x 140cm to use when breastfeeding in hospital when I have visitors, or when out and about with bubby and need a bit of privacy when bub is latching on.

Next up we have #1 of the many fitted cradle sheets I need to make. I've never made any fitted sheets before and although it can't be that hard, this one is more of a practice before I move on to all the cutesy fabric I bought. In saying that though, if this one turns out well, I'll be making a flat sheet to go with it, I am liking the navy blue gingham at the moment!

I need to hem the edges and also add the elastic to the four corners then I'm done. Then of course I need to go and pick up the cradle mattress I've ordered and see if the sheets fit :)

With the leftover rectangle of material I had from cutting out the fitted sheet I decide to make and over the shoulder burp cloth. I had some lovely red towelling to back it with which I thought went well with the navy blue gingham. I folded the rectangle in half, measured the width of my shoulder ( well from my neck to the the top of my arm) then measured how far down the curve in should be (10cm this one was) and cut out a section on either side of the fold in fabric where it would sit over my shoulder. Does that make sense?

Then because my sewing machine was set up for shirring and not general sewing, I just overlocked the edges of the burp cloth together. Doesn't look too bad. I will be making more of these though and making the section over the shoulder shorter than what it is now, I think it drapes a little long.
