Brown Polka dot "Lelle" Leggings

from Ottobre 6/2008 ( or is it 6/2009?), pattern #2.
Size 80, no seam allowances added. Ribbing added to match his brown polka dot raglan sleeve tee. Completed last night and worn today because the whole outfit together is just so darn cute.  Yes, it looks like a set of long johns but we are having a day at home today so they are nice and comfy ( and snuggly) for him to lounge around in.


I know they are not very good photo's today but I had to be quick to get a few whilst the sun was shining and he was happy before nap time.

I was not going to make his brown polka dot tee a pyjama top, but combined with the leggings, it's just too cute to boot!
Now to finish his actual pyjama pants to match the plain green with yellow ribbing top I made on Sunday.  ( isn't it funny how you can start one project and end up totally sidetracked by something else and finish that instead of what you started with!)

Sunday sew up

  I know it's Monday, but these were sewn up yesterday so technically still a Sunday Sew up!  Another three "Rille" shirts from Ottobre 6/2008 in sz 80 this time with seam allowances added.

The brown polka dot knit is from Spotlight, a purchase I made about 3 years ago.  It's really nice and the polka dots are raised  so the material has a nice feel to it too.  The blue ribbing is from my recent church fete haul.  I wanted to use the blue and brown together after seeing a short sleeve top (in brown polka dot) in one of the Ottobres a few years ago. I thought it made such a great combo and luckily I already had the material before the Otto issue came out ( see I had pre emptive good taste!)

A close up of the top stitching . I used my twin stretch needle for the neck and also the sleeves.


Next Rille tee is made up of a gorgeous pirate knit from my favourite place- The Crafty Mamas Shop.
I actually bought it to make something up for Fletch when he was a baby. Ooops.  Ribbing is also from my recent fete haul.

Master E loves his dad's motorbike. As soon as he spots it he is on his way over to it.

Next Rille tee is in a heavier fleecy knit  just perfect for a winter pyjama top.  Super warm and snuggly. Pyjama pants to come.

A major tantrum ensued, complete with high pitched squealing, lots of pointing  and even some crying - but no tears!

My sewjo has been on hiatus since March. It's been a never ending battle with sickness, household chores and well lets face it, everyday life with 5 kids.

But Sunday night I got the urge (right about 9pm) to sew something!
After scouring my Otto's I decided on three pieces for Elliott to wear out the very next day.

So I only finished two of the three things, but in my defence it was after 1 am when I packed my gear away.

Item #1 was the "Rille" raglan sleeve tee from Otto 6/2008 in sz 80 (without seam allowance added). It's a great fit too and so easy to whip up. I will definitely be making more of these up for E 's winter wardrobe.

Item #2 was the "peikko" furry vest ( minus the fur though lol) from Otto 6/2009 in sz 86. I used a nice warm slightly ribbed winter white knit for this one. I did not put the button and ribbon hook on. I was going for an open vest look but it is slightly too big on him do I am going to add some snaps to the front instead (photo's to come)

Item #3 is the "goofy" tweed pants from Otto 6/2008 in sz 86.
I am using a nice red and grey tartan for these pants. I've only just added the pleats to the front, I still have along way to go to finish them.
I am hoping to get them done tonight. (pictures to come )

It's nice getting back into the swing of things.

One thing off the list

of many things to do !

Tonight instead of doing the sewing I should of been doing, I decided to funkify a plain black bonds shirt I bought for Master 3.5.

Being new to this whole freezer paper stencilling thing I decided to keep my design simple and just do an outline print.

Coming up with something to print was difficult. Spencer likes so many things at the moment, it was hard to narrow it down. But I guess in saying that, he would of liked anything I chose.

I chose to print the outline of a dinosaur- what little boy doesn't like dinosaurs right??

Let's hope he likes it- I know his father does!

I placed the dinosaur right in the middle of the shirt but I think it would of looked even better in the bottom right hand corner of the shirt.

I have plans for some nice funky shorts for both my boys and stencilled shirts to match for Christmas pressies. Fingers crossed I get to them in time! Christmas is, after all, only 2 weeks away!!!!!!!

There was once a woolly jumper....

who no longer was loved, so a crafty mama rescued it from the give away pile and refashioned it into two pairs of warm woolly pants for some rough and tumble boys :)

Spencer was having a sooky day and didn't want to be photographed in his pants, I managed to snap one though before he got cranky at me :)

Well that's all from me tonight, considering it's nearly 1am and I will be up in oh say 5 hours to feed the baby. I think I am going to need toothpicks to keep my eyes open LOL. If only our satellite was working, then I would of had this posted in about 10 minutes instead of the nearly 3 hours (yes you read right, I did say 3 hours!) it has taken.
