UFO's ~ 3 down, how many more to go?

Friday, 6 June 2008
I am trying to finish all of my UFO's before I start any new projects. Apart from the skirt ( which wasn't a UFO but it was something on my "to make" list) the other two tops I've put pics up of, are things I've had cut out for quite some time and have been meaning to "get around to it"

To celebrate Queensland day today at school, the kids had a free dress day in which they had to wear something maroon. They would recieve free billy tea and damper if they did. Being that my girls don't own anything Maroon, I whipped up a ruffled skirt (from here http://grandrevivaldesign.typepad.com/photos/ruffled_skirts_tutorial/skirts4000.html )

This one was for Miss Imogen, 1st layer maroon, 2nd layer pink with dark cherries and then finisjed off with lace. Very nice even if I do say so myself .
I only made one for Immy however as I found out yesterday August has been misbehaving in class and had to have a time out as punishment today~ Very dissappointing. So she was sent to school in full uniform! ( am I a mean mum or what! I did cave though and made her a headband out of the maroon and pink cherry material to wear today so she'd get the billy tea and damper too)

This top matches the Pj pants I made Imogen back in Feb this year ( Dotty for Spotty post)
It fits really nicely and is apparently "super comfy"
It's from Ottobre 1/2007 and I think it's pattern #9

Last this is from Simplicity 8466, view #2. It's a disney pattern I recieved from Kim (http://kimnzsblog.blogspot.com/)
in the EB Sewing groups Op Shop swap ( last year)
I've been meaning to make it up for ages and had the material cut for it for about 5 mths.
So finally I made it up and boy did I make a mess of it. For some reason I did not allow facing for the buttons on the yoke front, so I thought to myself "bugger it, it's not as if he can use buttons" and I sewed it right up. Everything went downhill from there. :(
I didn't put ribbing on the sleeves or on the waistband and used my stretch twin needle to do the neckline, and hem the sleeves and bottom of the shirt. It's way too big for Fletcher so I think it will be a nightshirt for him. I have some lime green cotton thermal material for pj pants for him, so I think the shirt will go nicely with that. Now lets hope it doesn't take me 5mths before I sew them up!
Is this zoolanders "bluesteel " look or what! LOL

See it's way too big for him!

OMG Fletcher is a cutie! LOL @ his bluesteel expression!

I have that skirt on my to-do list. A friend of mine made a few and I was inspired.
