Nightie Night

Wow!

Two things sewn up in one night. From conception( tracing pattern and cutting out) to completion in only 2 hours, I am very impressed with myself haha!

My girls need new nighties, ones that fit them and are suitable for upcoming hot weather.

Not having any actual nightgown patterns, I opted for an Ottobre singlet pattern I've used before ( Pattern #9 from Otto 3/2007 http://fallenfromgracesewingandstuff.blogspot.com/2008/06/its-all-about-me-no-not-really.html) and just extended the bottom of it to make it dress length.

I may have to take them up a bit though, I haven't had a chance to try them out on the girls yet, they are fast asleep .

I made a mistake on one though , the stripey one was cut so the stretch runs the wrong way . I reminded myself to cut it out with the stripes going around the body but still did it wrong. Then of course I didn't realise my mistake until I was sewing the armhole binding on. So while the other nightie has a lettuce leaf edging, this stripey one had to make do with a rolled hem as there was not much stretch in it unfortunately.
Pregnant brain and a bit of tiredness are not good for night time sewing!

Sorry for the dodgy photo's, the light really isn't ideal here at night for taking pictures. I will have to replace these ones with some nicer ones tomorrow.

These are great Ali - my two still fit (just) the PJ's I made from this pattern last year.
I'm sure the girls won't even notice the stripes!
